Counselling in Tynemouth & Online
In-person and online counselling for adults who need a safe space to talk about anxiety, low mood, relationships, work pressure, or other challenges affecting their wellbeing.

How can counselling help?
Sometimes life can feel heavy or directionless, even when, from the outside, things seem to be going well. You might notice a sense of frustration, emptiness, or confusion about what’s holding you back. Maybe you’re living with constant pressure, self-criticism, or emotions that feel out of step with what’s actually happening. Or perhaps you’ve just reached a point where old ways of coping don’t seem to work anymore.
Therapy can help you slow things down, make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface, and start to understand yourself in a different way. Together, we can look at what’s been keeping you stuck and work towards creating lasting, meaningful change.
My Approach
If you’re looking for a safe, confidential space to talk, I offer one-to-one therapy tailored specifically to you – whether that’s in-person or online. I believe that a strong, trusting relationship is the foundation for lasting change, which is why I work relationally.
In our sessions, I blend three key approaches to support your unique needs:
- Person-Centred: I focus on your current, lived experience, ensuring you feel truly heard and accepted in the ‘here and now.’
- Psychodynamic: We can explore the ‘there and then,’ looking at how your past experiences and earlier relationships might be shaping your patterns today.
- CBT: I offer practical strategies and tools to help you manage specific challenges and move forward with more confidence.
Because everyone is different, we won’t always use all three at once. Instead, we’ll work together to find the right balance – adapting our pace and focus so that the therapy fits you, rather than trying to make you fit a specific model.

What to Expect
Our 50 minute sessions take place in-person in a calm and comfortable counselling room in Tynemouth or in the comfort of your environment. I offer short and long-term open-ended work. Sessions are weekly at the same day and time each week. We can discuss your availability and agree on a regular day and time that works well for us both.
In our initial sessions, we will focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a space where you feel safe and understood. We will begin to explore the experiences, patterns, and challenges that have brought you to counselling, developing a clearer understanding of how these may be influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. From there, we can start to identify meaningful and realistic ways to support positive change and personal growth at a pace that feels right for you.
